Russia and Iran Have Agreed to Cooperate in the Field of Nanoproduct Certification

Russian nanoindustry companies will interact with their Iranian counterparts in the field of safety assessment and certification of nanotechnology products.

The corresponding agreement was signed on Wednesday in Tehran by the Director General of the ANO Nanocertifica Centre for Certification of Nanoindustry Production and Management Systems, Sergey Volkov and the Director of the International Collaboration and Nanostandardization Committee of the Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council Ali Beitollahi.

The corresponding agreement was signed by the Director General of the ANO Nanocertifica Centre for Certification of Nanoindustry Production and Management Systems, Sergey Volkov (L) and the Director of the International Collaboration and Nanostandardization Committee of the Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council Ali Beitollahi

The document was signed within the framework of the International Forum on Nanotechnology Products Certificates and Labeling, which was attended by the representatives from South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan including Russia and Iran.

The agreement provides joint testing of products, improvement of the assessment methodology and ensuring safety in the nanotechnology industry, as well as the development of measuring and testing methods. The parties agreed to establish a working group, which will form a road map for conducting joint work in the sphere of standardization, certification and safety assessment of nanoindustry production.

While signing the agreement, Mr. Volkov and Mr. Beitollahi confirmed their mutual interest in the harmonization of regulations in the nanoindustry, the creation of unified approaches to the assessment of nanosafety, as well as the development of procedures for the certification of nanotechnology production thus ensuring the mutual recognition of its results.

The Autonomous Nonprofit Organization Nanocertifica Centre for Certification of Nanoindustry Production and Management Systems (ANO Nanocertifica) was established at the initiative and with the support of RUSNANO to render services to nanotechnology companies concerning the certification of products and management systems in this sphere. ANO Nanocertifica ensures the operation of the NANOCERTIFICA Voluntary Certification System for Nanoproducts.
