TEN fab High-Seal Valves Have Successfully Completed Testing at the Gazpromneft-Hantos Wells

The contract manufacturer of mechatronics, robotics, and medical equipment TEN fab of the TechnoSpark Group of Companies produced for Oklas Technologies a pilot series of innovative valves for oil wells, which have successfully passed six-month industrial tests at two Gazpromneft-Hantos wells. The TechnoSpark Group of Companies, which develops contract and product businesses, is part of the investment network of the RUSNANO’s Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs.

On the order of Oklas Technologies, TEN fab produced a pilot batch of the UCV high-seal reverse valves, which were sent for testing to the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra to the difficult wells with complicated conditions and big running depth (≈3,300 m), with the leakiness of standard reverse valves and the resulting increased energy consumption recorded.

The high-seal UCV valves are part of the submersible equipment for the extraction of formation fluid and are designed to hold fluid in the pump-compressor tubes after the pump stops. Typically, two consistently installed standard reverse valves are used, which quickly lose their tightness and, when the pump stops, release the liquid back into the bed. This leads to the increased energy consumption of the well, since each time the submersible pump has to pump the liquid again. Besides, it should be noted that the second valve creates additional hydraulic resistance which also affects energy consumption. The UCV high-seal valve developed by Oklas Technologies replaces two standard valves and solves these problems.

Based on the 180-day tests, the TEN fab’s UCV high-seal valves have confirmed their reliability and compliance with the stated characteristics. This allowed to avoid losses on the debit wells, reduce their specific energy consumption by 70%, and exclude the turbine rotation of electric submersible pumps. Currently, one valve successfully continues its work, the accumulated operating time has already exceeded one year. The second valve was lifted due to the well stop. The operating time was 199 days. The valve was in good condition.

“In the manufacture of the pilot series for Gazpromneft-Hantos, we needed to be confident in the full compliance of the products with the design documentation developed by us. TEN fab produced valves at a reasonable price and on time. As a result of the tests, our valves have been recommended for industrial use at Gazpromneft fields, and TEN fab has already confirmed that they are ready to produce valves at full scale,” said Vyacheslav Leonov, Technical Director at Oklas Technologies.

Oklas Technologies, a Skolkovo resident, develops and manufactures innovative equipment for oil and gas production. For this company, TEN fab previously manufactured Turbostop devices to prevent the turbine rotation of the electric-centrifugal pumps.
