The RUSNANO delegation began its work by visiting portfolio companies Liotech, Russia’s only industrial manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries, and NEVZ-CERAMICS, which manufactures a wide range of nanoceramic products from ceramic implants for surgery and dentistry to armored ceramic products to equip armed personnel and armored vehicles.
After that, Sergey Kulikov met with the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Andrey Travnikov, where they discussed problematic issues and prospects for the development of the Group’s projects in the region, as well as the main areas of cooperation with the regional administration in the field of high technologies.
“One of the competitive advantages of the Novosibirsk Region is the availability of a well-developed scientific and educational complex. As we know, a complicated issue of scientific and technological development at the present stage is the transfer of scientific discoveries into production. There are several successful examples of solving this problem in our region—startups that have turned scientific knowledge into a working business. This is the result of specialized work carried out in the Novosibirsk region to solve this key problem of modern domestic science and technology,” said Andrey Travnikov.
“Novosibirsk is, without exaggeration, one of our country’s key scientific, educational, and innovative regions. Full advantage must be taken of its intellectual and human potential to create a breakthrough in products and technology. As a State Institution for Development, we should offer Russian scientists and high-tech businesses a set of effective investment and infrastructure tools to ensure transformation of scientific and technological developments into a product in demand and its promotion to global markets,” said Sergey Kulikov.
After meeting the Governor, the Chairman of the Executive Board of RUSNANO Management Company visited the SIGMA.Novosibirsk nanotechnology center, where he became acquainted with various projects of the center. Sergey Kulikov inspected the Energozapas company’s site, which develops solid-state storage power plants (SSPP) for industrial energy storage.
At the end of the working trip, the Chairman of the Executive Board of RUSNANO Management Company visited the portfolio company OCSiAl, the world’s largest carbon nanotubes manufacturer. Sergey Kulikov, together with the company’s management, discussed the development and prospects of this project.
